The Romanian business community in Italy met, in Milan, with representatives of the Romanian economic environment, in an event organized by the ROUNIT Association within the European Tour “Romanians Revive. Romania Grows.”. Central theme: how the diaspora can move from the traditional role of financial supporter of families in the country to the status of investor and strategic partner in the development of the Romanian economy.
The meeting brought to the same table entrepreneurs, investors and leaders of the Romanian professional communities in Italy, interested in identifying concrete ways by which the experience gained in the Western economic environment can be capitalized in projects in Romania.

From remittances to investments
The discussions focused on the creation of functional cooperation mechanisms: facilitating transnational investments, connecting Romanian entrepreneurs from the diaspora with opportunities in the country and developing a business networking platform through the ROUNIT Business Exchange.

„Romanian diaspora has demonstrated financial capacity, expertise and strong international networks. The next step is to turn these resources into a organized investment and development tool for Romania. We’re not talking about emotion, we’re talking about economic strategy.”
The organizers claim that the goal is to build a global Romanian economic network, capable of supporting the modernization of key sectors and encouraging, in the medium term, including the return of Romanian specialists to the country.

Institutional support and network expansion
The event benefited from the support of the Consulate General of Romania in Milaninstitutional involvement being considered essential for consolidating a stable cooperation framework between the Romanian community in Italy and economic initiatives in Romania.
An important moment of the meeting was the expansion of the ROUNIT network in Milan by joining six new membersa sign that interest in an organized structure of economic collaboration is growing.
The host of the meeting was Romulus Popescu, ROUNIT Ambassadorwhose involvement contributed to the mobilization of the local entrepreneurial community.

European tour with a clear economic objective
The meeting in Milan is part of a series of events organized in major European centers, through which ROUNIT tries to strengthen the connection between Romanians in the diaspora and the economic environment in Romania.
