Richard Ferrier has been named CEO of the Heartwood Collection, overseeing Heartwood Inns and Brasserie Blanc.
Twelve years ago, Richard Ferrier joined Heartwood Collection from Zolfo Cooper (now Alix Partners). Over the years, he has held various positions in the organization, including group strategy manager, operations manager for the Brasserie Blanc and Heartwood Inns brands, and director of operations for Brasserie Blanc.
He most recently served as Group CEO and was instrumental in guiding Heartwood towards its acquisition by private equity firm Alchemy Partners in 2022.
Mark Derry, who previously worked with Ferrier as managing director of the Heartwood Collection, will continue to run the business in his new capacity as non-chairman of the board.
Ferrier’s appointment coincides with Heartwood Collection’s ambitious plans to open “up to 10 pubs” this year. In addition, the company plans to launch its first in-room pubs, starting with the White Horse in Dorking later this month.
Heartwood has successfully acquired four establishments in the room pub sector, taking the group’s goal to operate more than 500 rooms by 2027. The company’s goal is to reach a turnover of 133 million pounds.
