To mark five years since Sarah Everard was killed, a vigil is being held in Clapham to remember her and the lives of all women and girls who have been taken through violence. The gathering is happening at 6.30pm on Tues 3rd March at the bandstand in Clapham Common.
The vigil, which has been organised with permission from Lambeth Parks and with the knowledge of people close to Sarah, will include a minute of silence. People are able to lay flowers if they wish, with the organisers coordinating the respectful clearing of flowers with guidance from the park. The organisers have stated that this will be a peaceful and non-political moment of remembrance, open to anyone who would like to attend. They’ll be raising funds for @solacewomensaid, a London charity supporting women and children affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence.
