Primark will revamp three stores in London as part of a new £100m investment in its UK stores by 2024. In addition to this, it will also open a new store in Epsom.
The three stores in London that will be part of the renewal are Oxford Street, Hackney and Hounslow. A total of 15 locations across the country will be refurbished and the three in London will have upgraded interior and store design, along with new LED lighting.
Not only will these three stores get an upgrade, but the Westfield Stratford store will also almost double in size to more than 81,000 sq m. ft, making it the second largest Primark in the capital.
The new store opening in Epsom will be over 55,000 square feet and will be a boost for local residents. Epsom borders Kingston so will no doubt become a new destination for anyone in South London looking to get to a massive new Primark store.
Kari Rodgers, UK Retail Director at Primark said: “We’ve changed a lot in the fifty years since we opened the doors to our first UK store in Derby back in 1974, but at our heart we’re still the same. We’re as committed as ever to to offer the very best value on the high street and make great fashion more affordable and accessible to all.
“This latest investment will mean bigger and better stores, hundreds of new jobs across the country and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the UK high street.”
In total, Primark has 192 stores across the country and employs over 30,000 people.
