Prezzo has announced the appointment of Mark McCulloch, former marketing director of Pret A Manger and YO!. Sushi as its marketing director.
McCulloch joins the high street brand on a part-time basis, working three days a week to lead the next phase of Prezzo’s strategy, which focuses on improving the customer experience.
He will work closely with newly appointed CEO James Brown to strengthen Prezzo’s position as one of the UK’s most respected Italian dining destinations.
McCulloch said: “I am thrilled to be joining Prezzo at such an exciting time. I have always admired the brand’s rich heritage, having served Italian favorites in the UK for the past 25 years.
“The opportunity to work with James Brown and the Prezzo team to grow a much-loved brand is a challenge I can’t wait to take on. With my experience working with the best brands in the hospitality industry around the world, I am confident that we can create something incredible that the team will be proud of and that will delight our guests (current and new).
Brown added: “Mark’s reputation in the industry speaks volumes. His work for brands such as Pret A Manger, YO! Sushi, Dishoom and Rosa’s Thai have proven their ability to innovate, adapt and lead in competitive markets, making the brands both more vibrant and better known. We are thrilled to have him on board and look forward to working with him as we update and develop Prezzo and take it to the next level as a team.
McCulloch has more than 20 years of experience in the industry and is also behind Hospitality Rising, a prominent advertising campaign launched in 2022 to increase recruitment in the hospitality industry.
Hospitality Rising aimed to inspire young people aged 18-30 to pursue careers in restaurants, bars, hotels and restaurants through attractive strapline campaigns, social media campaigns and easy access to an online job board.
The campaign was suspended earlier this year due to insufficient funding, despite reaching a significant milestone of 300,000 job applications.
