Niantic revealed the program Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour for February 2024. With Munna, Dratini and others have an increased chance to appear.
The Pokémon Go Spotlight Hour is a popular weekly event hosted by Niantic in Pokemon Go. Each week, a different Pokémon will be in the spotlight, offering significantly improved spawn rates and a special double bonus.
For one hour, trainers will have the chance to catch as many specific species as possible, providing the perfect opportunity to fill up your Pokedex and earn enough candy to evolve that Pokemon.
Much like the monthly Community Days, these Pokemon Go events are designed to give trainers the opportunity to catch, evolve and battle with the community.

When is the next Pokemon Spotlight Hour? Date, time and bonuses
Niantic has confirmed that the next Spotlight Hour will appear Sandshrew and Alolan Sandshrew and that it will be put online at February 27, 2024. This Pokemon will appear more often in the wild for a short time, between 18.00 and 19.00 local time .
That means you’ll be able to join in and capture it no matter where you are in the world. In addition to this, players can also recover double the candy to transfer the Pokemon as part of the event bonuses.
There will be no Spotlight Hour on February 20, 2024, due to additional daily raid hours.
Can Sandshrew and Alolan Sandshrew be Shiny in Pokemon Go?
The good news is that Shiny Sandsrew and Alolan Sandshrew can be encountered in Pokemon Go. As part of the Spotlight Hour, players will have a higher chance of encountering both Shiny forms.

How to prepare for Munna Spotlight Hour in Pokemon Go
Since Spotlight Hours are only 60 minutes long, there are a number of things you can prepare to ensure you don’t waste valuable time:
- Make sure you have enough the Poke Balls to catch multiple Spotlight Hour Pokémon.
- Make sure you have enough berries to get double candy or make it easier to catch.
- Empty yours Pokemon storage box to make room for all the Pokemon you catch.
- Save your PokeCoins and buy one Incense for the event.
- Since this event involves double XP for evolving Pokemon, mark a wide selection of Pokemon you own that are ready to evolve to save you searching during Spotlight Hour.
Along with these tips, Spotlight Hours are the perfect opportunity to use spare items like Lucky Eggs or Star Pieces to increase the XP and Stardust you earn during the event.
Spotlight Time Appearance Rate and Gloss Rate
The spawn rate of each Spotlight Hour Pokémon is increased for 60 minutes during these events, meaning you’ll have plenty of opportunities to catch each species, especially if you use Incense and attracts.
While Spotlight Hours don’t increase a Pokemon’s individual Shiny rating, the fact that you encounter so many of them means you’re more likely to find one during a Spotlight Hour than during normal hours. If you’re thinking of using Spotlight Hours for Shiny Hunt, the best way is to use an incense and go exploring.
Tap every Pokemon you see, and if they’re not shiny, don’t bother catching them—just leave and keep looking. Remember that you can now use les classifications Pokedex to distinguish your Shiny Pokémon collection, which is useful if you’re trying to catch them all.
