PizzaExpress has launched the first PizzaExpress Pod, a grab and go concept, at Tesco Extra in Southampton.
Located outside the main entrance of Tesco Extra, the PizzaExpress Pod offers customers the convenience of ordering on the go through an open kitchen and takeout window. In addition to serving walk-in customers, Pod also cooperates with a delivery service, allowing local residents to order pizza for home delivery.
The PizzaExpress Pod offers a range of branded favourites, including American Hot and Padana pizzas, as well as a £9.95 pizza and soft drink lunch deal. Tesco Clubcard members can also redeem their points by ordering from Pod.
Pod is part of the brand’s broader growth strategy as it expands its retail selection and international presence. The group’s goal is to own and operate 1,000 pizzerias worldwide by 2030.
PizzaExpress’ Paula Mackenzie commented: ‘2024 has been a year of growth and new openings and we show no signs of slowing down as we enter the festive season. Our three new pizzerias across the country – London Gatwick, Oxford Summertown and The ICC in Birmingham – have been huge hits, but now the PizzaExpress Pod brings something completely new and eye-catching to our pizza lovers and Tesco-goers.
