The two famous Paul’s were seen in London over the weekend
Paul Mescal and Sir Paul McCartney have been spotted at one of London’s most iconic cafes in Central London. Mescal is set to play McCartney in the upcoming four The Beatles biopics which are due in cinemas in April 2028.
Over the weekend, the duo were pictured heading out of the iconic Regency Cafe, on Regency Street in Westminster. Mescal has been seen filming in McCartney’s hometown of Liverpool but this is the first time we have seen the duo on the streets of London. It is not yet known what they are filming for but there are rumours it could be for a documentary linked to the films.
Mescal is set to play Sir Paul McCartney in the four films based on the legendary band members. They are set to be released in 2028. Barry Keoghan is set to act as Ringo Starr, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison.
In an interview with Backstage, Mescal said: “It’s the greatest band to ever do it. I get to play somebody I’ve always admired. As each day goes by, I just think he’s like – you can count on one hand how many people have influenced the world as much as he has.”
In the pictures, we see Mescal and McCartney leaving Regency Cafe looking in good spirits. Mescal is wearing light blue denim jeans along with a denim jacket while McCartney is wearing a navy jacket and jeans. In one image Mescal is even seen holding an umbrella over McCartney as they take a break from filming to chat.
Last week Mescal was seen in Liverpool filming scenes with Keoghan.
Regency Cafe is no stranger to being used in films. The café was a key part in the 2004 movie Layer Cake starring Daniel Craig. It was also used in the 2019 biopic Rocketman, starring Taron Egerton as Elton John. The café was closed to the public for the duration of the filming.
