There are a number of ways to tell when autumn is approaching the capital city. The days start getting shorter, the leaves begin to fall, and – of course – the heady scent of pumpkin spice fills the air. But another sure-fire indication of the changing of the seasons comes in the form of Dalloway Terrace’s annual autumnal glow-up. And right on cue, the gasp-inducingly gorgeous spot has been transformed for the cosy season.
Dalloway Terrace is continuing with the centennial celebrations of its namesake (Virginia Woolf’s Mrs Dallowayof course)and the venue’s autumnal makeover has been inspired by Clarissa Dalloway’s love of flowers. The terrace has been decked out with beautiful blooms and drenched in delicate pink and peach tones. Lush and leafy foliage adorns the walls, alongside an abundance of ravishing roses. And – unsurprisingly – the result is pretty blooming breathtaking. I think it’s safe to say that both Dalloway and Woolf would highly approve.
Autumn at Dalloway Terrace
It’s not just the decor that’s had a seasonal refresh, though. The menus have also been injected with a touch of autumn. The afternoon tea menu now features the warm and cosy likes of a pumpkin spice latte eclair, a dark chocolate and smoked tea mousse, and vanilla and sultana scones (served with a big old dollop of blackberry and apple jam). New seasonal dishes on the a la carte menu include burrata with grilled grapes and pumpkin dukkah and grilled trout served with a warm potato salad. And three rose-themed cocktails have also, rather aptly, been added to the drinks menu, courtesy of Mireabeau and Fever-Tree.
Dalloway Terrace is the perfect spot for autumnal afternoons and cosy evenings alike, ready with heaters and blankets on-hand for when the temperature inevitably plummets. Whether you fancy a refreshing cocktail, a dreamy afternoon tea, a decadent dinner, or a cosy night-cap; Dalloway Terrace’s picture-perfect paradise has something for everyone this season.
