New pocket parks have been opening across the borough, providing local areas to relax, connect and enjoy the outdoors. From pocket parks to planters, these small but impactful spaces are bringing nature closer to communities, supporting wellbeing and creating habitats for wildlife.
There are 20 locations across Merton, one in each ward, as part of the borough’s 60th birthday celebrations. Community planting days have also taken place at some sites. A big thank you goes to all the volunteers, community groups, local councillors, the Greenspaces team, and students from Harris Academy Wimbledon who helped out with planting in their local pocket parks.

- Hillside Ward – Ridgeway (Wimbledon Telephone Exchange)
- Figges Marsh Ward – Junction of Gorringe Park Road and London Road
- Village Ward – Dairy Walk
- West Barnes Ward – Junction of West Barnes Lane and Station Road
- Abbey Ward – High Path
- Lavender Fields Ward – Adjacent to Tamworth Recreation Ground Playground and Paddling Pool
- Pollards Hill Ward – Commonside East (Entrance Area)
- Merton Park Ward – Church Path; Nelson’s Steps (Front of St Mary’s Church)
- Raynes Park Ward – Green spaces from Coombe Lane to shopfronts
- Graveney Ward – Gorringe Park Avenue to just before Seely Road
- Wimbledon Park Ward – Gap Road; Kenilworth Gardens
- Lower Morden Ward – Lynmouth Gardens Open Space
