AN Islamic convert jumped on to a desk and attacked a cop as he was being interviewed by anti-terror officers.
Footage shows Edward Little, 22, punching and kicking a detective quizzing him about a plot to kill a Christian preacher.
Little was arrested while attempting to buy a gun to shoot Hatun Tash, 40, at Speakers’ Corner in London’s Hyde Park.
In his interview, he had answered “no comment” before the attack. The cop suffered an injured eye.
Little, of Brighton, admitted assaulting an emergency worker and got eight months’ jail.
He later poured boiling water mixed with sugar over an inmate at Belmarsh jail.
Yesterday at the Old Bailey, he was jailed for life with a minimum 16 years after he admitted preparing to commit an act of terrorism and wounding with intent to cause GBH.
Prosecutor Duncan Penny KC said: “DC Hammersley averted eye contact to try and diffuse the tension, however the defendant did not break his gaze.
“The defendant then launched himself from his chair and over the table, which was positioned between them, with his fists clenched and swinging both arms towards his face.
“DC Hammersley stumbled off his chair, toward the corner of the room where he held up his arms to protect his face as the defendant swung his fists towards his head.
“The defendant was able to swing three or four punches before others were able to restrain him, but the defendant nevertheless kicked out at DC Hammersley.”
