There are myriad reasons why one might choose to pass on the booze for a night, a month, or for good, but that doesn’t mean you should forgo other activities that are believed to go hand-in-hand with the sauce.
Ministry Of Sound is running with that idea this summer, as they launch a series of ‘Sober Raves’, which start this May and will run quarterly through to November this year; inviting anyone to head on over to bust out their best dance moves without alcohol.
Headlining the set of raves is DRIIA, who will spin the decks at each event and is inspired by her own sober raving experiences. Events invite anyone who is sober or sober-curious to take part in the events that are all about the music and loving time dancing without alcohol and without hangovers. They will take place during the day, so a boogie and a good night’s sleep are guaranteed, with a drinks menu of low/no alcohol beer, mushroom and CBD drinks also curated by Laura Andrijauskaitė, bar manager at Ministry Of Sound.
Speaking on the sober raves, Matt Long, Club Director at Ministry of Sound said: “At Ministry of Sound, our egalitarian roots have always led to positive change, for the growing number of us that are ‘sober curious’ we know what our patrons want, more inclusive nightlife experiences. Our daytime raves and ‘No and Low’ alcohol range cater for a growing community, like us, who believe that clubbing should be about connection, energy and making memories whether you’re sipping a zero-proof mocktail or a low-alcohol beer.”
Ministry Of Sound are kicking off their ‘Sober Raves’ on May 11, and they will run quarterly until November and be headlined by DRIIA at each daytime event.
