Four new menu items are coming to Happy Meals as part of McDonald’s UK test. The trial is running exclusively in the North West of the UK and at selected restaurants in Ireland and will run for 14 weeks from May 29.
187 restaurants across Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and Ireland will be the first to see Mayo Chicken, Fish Bites, Flavored Milk and McFreezy in Happy Meals.
Mayo Chicken is already a staple on the Saver Menu and will now join the Happy Meal menu. Mayo Chicken contains crispy coated chicken with lettuce and mayonnaise in a soft bun.
Flavored milk will be available in chocolate, strawberry and banana with natural flavors and no added sugar. And tthe McFreezy is a frozen ice dessert made with fruit juice and puree, available in either orange or mango and pineapple flavors. The McFreezy will also be available on the main menu (£1.59).
Available for around £3.59 – a Happy Meal includes a choice of Chicken McNuggets, Veggie Dippers, Chicken Mayo, Fish Bites with an apple & grape pouch, cucumber pouch or orange, mango & pineapple McFreezy side, plus drink options including water, milk (plain, chocolate, strawberry or banana), or fruit shoots.
Chicken Mayo, Fish Bites, flavored milk and McFreezy will also be available as part of the main menu. When ordering Fish Bites on the main menu, the portion size is 9 and for the Happy Meal, the portion size is 5.
This regional trial will run for 14 weeks from 29tMay 2024, ahead of a possible national launch next year.
