Sadiq Khan has announced an additional £9m to expand support for survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence across London.

The funding includes £6m for a new round of the Mayor’s Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Grassroots Fund, helping community organisations provide legal advice, counselling and specialist services.

The programme has already supported 57 groups and more than 56,800 women, girls and families from minoritised communities.

A further £3m will fund a new service aimed at helping survivors gain financial independence through employment support, training and skills development.
