London-based bar group Maven Leisure is looking to secure £2m of growth capital to further its expansion in the capital.
Growthdeck’s fundraising initiative is enabling Maven Leisure to set up new venues in central London. These include plans for a distinctive sports bar and rooftop bars at two of the “most iconic locations in the capital”.
Maven currently has four excellent locations in central London. These include the City of London rooftop Wagtail with three sports bars.
Founded in 2021 by Ed Martin and the management team of ETM Group, Maven has quickly developed from the beginning into a major player in the field. With its roots in one place, it has since blossomed into a business with an impressive £33m turnover. ETM Group, known for iconic venues such as the Botanist in Sloane Square, have played a key role in Maven’s journey.
Maven’s turnover rose to £10.2 million and EBITDA rose to £1.4 million by the end of the last financial year. The company estimates that its future venues will serve as catalysts for continued growth.
Ian Zant-Boer, chief executive of Growthdeck, said: “Maven Leisure has a proven track record of establishing its sites as leading hospitality destinations in the city.
“Our investment in Maven is based on our strong belief in London’s thriving hospitality scene and in Ed, Landen and Graham. This fundraising represents a great opportunity for investors in the City’s premium bar market.
Maven’s management is led by Martin and CFO Prescott Brann, who came from Itsu in 2016. In addition, the chairman is Graham Turner, the former CEO of Tragus Group, which is now part of Big Table Group.
