Married At First Sight – Season 18 Emem Just Released On Ikechi And I Think They Are The Worst Pairing Ever (SPOILERS)

This article contains potential Married At First Sight Season 18 spoilers.

Married at first sight season 18 is rolling so far, and the explosive showdown between the deliciously feisty Emem Oboti and her wannabe husband Ikechi Ojoré was positively volcanic, and made me wonder if they’re the worst MAFS duo ever. Of course, there is so much competition for this not-so-coveted title. Remember Chris Williams and Paige Banks? They were a train wreck and AFTER his wedding to Paige, Chris revealed that his ex was pregnant with his baby. However, Emem and Ikechi may be giving villain Chris and his hapless bride a run for their money.

Just as the Joker hilariously mocks his nemesis, Batman, Emem unleashes a style that is unfiltered and hilarious. Sure, telling spouses is theoretically wrong, but these two hardly know each other, and Okechi has already crossed some lines. While Emem isn’t using the Joker’s poison flower to exact revenge or plotting a weird Capris that humiliates Gotham’s pure-hearted hero Batman, she gives as much as she gets. That doesn’t bode well for their relationship.

Joker and Batman aren’t exactly the best, are they? This kind of banter has an edge that tears Ememi and Okech apart.

As if locked in battle on the roof of Gotham, under a moonlit sky, Emem and Ikechi struggle to control a relationship that should probably die. He thinks he is too “aggressive.” Maybe he’s right. Emem tells it like it is, fearlessly sharing his views. Is that a bad thing? Not really, but she needs a man who appreciates a little fire and flint. Someone like Ikechi who prefers “very modest” women is not going to appreciate the way she shoots from the hip.

Straightforward, temperamental, demanding… that’s Emem. but was she wrong to call her “box fresh” husband for cheating on him so early? In no way. Do you believe in gender equality? I totally agree, and that’s why she has just as much right as a man to ask for what she wants from a relationship. Despite this, the following rant shows that his patience is dangerously short. When Okechi didn’t respond to her messages for a couple of days, she freaked out:

Call me MIA? You said you needed space and time. I sent you a text message. I called you. You didn’t answer, and then you show up today in this joker outfit. I’m done. You are wild for this. I have been texting you and calling you for two days.

The vitriol didn’t stop there. Emem shouted at him “clown” partner again by threatening him a “circus.” He said:

F-ing clown. Bring me a clown, you get a circus.

Ikechi’s attitude inspires celebration

Then she says that he is too brave

To flip the script, let’s imagine Ikechi as the Joker. Devilishly, at a level of passive aggression that is startling, Ikechi launches his partner and then watches him explode. When he finally loses it, he is the “bad guy”. Is it really true? Isn’t he, like “The Joker”, toying with his “victim”, trying to get a rise out of him? Of course he is. So when Ikechi wouldn’t even sit next to his wife during the meeting with the MAFS expert as seen above, Lifelong On YouTube, what did he expect? Sunshine and roses?

Every little action like this builds up in Ememi’s mind until he finally blows up his stack. I think he’s more than smart enough to know he’s playing with fire, right?

Passive-aggressive people don’t like big fights. They have other ways to do damage.

The future is not so bright

Who will win this battle of wills? Both lose!

In the movies, the Joker never stops Batman… the games go on forever. The Joker is like Wile E. Coyote chasing the Roadrunner through the desert. See how it goes. The problem here is so bad Married at first sight relationships don’t have to last indefinitely – in fact, with only a dozen marriages lasting ALL seasons, the odds of meeting their own doom are far too high. There is no need for a sequel.

Therefore, Ememi needs to soften her approach if she wants this relationship to last. Rumor has it that it’s over and that could be a good thing. It’s a pretty safe bet that Emem won’t change. She wants a certain level of respect, and if Ikechi doesn’t fit her idea of what a man should be, she’ll never be happy. On the contrary, he is not interested in it – that fact her personality is so repulsive to him is the biggest red flag of all.

Love should be gentler, more accepting, more joyful. The two are not on the same page. They have happy moments, but as this wild argument shows, there are already big problems. On Married at first sightthere are almost always growing pains as couples get used to each other, but this goes beyond the usual “pains”. Emem and Okechi are just too different and if they are smart they will stop this as soon as possible.

Like a spoiler for the post StylecasterEmem and Ikechi are

probably done

according to a spoiler from @mafsfans. Ikechi may have pushed Ememi into the arms of another man because of rumors based on the same source that she is engaged to someone else. That’s not a bad thing. Smart people move on – why hang on to the past that never made you happy? When people soldier on and look for what really makes them happy, they have a better chance of finding a partner who doesn’t turn into a cartoon enemy.

Yes, the spoiler might be wrong, but really, do you think these two have what it takes to stay together for life? The hell I will. Their interaction is awkward – his timid confrontational style probably screams “f*** off” to his hot-blooded wife. Meanwhile, she grows tired of his harangues. This kind of arguing is a bad sign. Married at first sight couples are often at odds, but this duo is actually at war.

Married at first sight airs Tuesdays at 8pm EST on Lifetime.
