Met Police officers are appealing for witnesses following the death of a 94-year-old man in a collision with a van
Police are appealing for witnesses following the death of a 94-year-old man in a collision with a van in Upper Clapton, Hackney. Officers were called to the junction of Alkham Road and Cazenove Road at 3.46pm on Thursday, 12 February, after a pedestrian was struck. The man, later identified as Ismail Bham, was taken to hospital but died from his injuries on Monday, 23 February. His family are being supported by specially trained officers. The van driver remained at the scene, and no arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Sergeant Ed Rulton, of the Met’s Serious Collisions Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with Ismail’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time. As we try to build up a full picture of the incident, we are appealing to speak to anyone who may have witnessed it – particularly if they have CCTV or dashcam footage.”
Police are asking anyone with information or footage to call 101 or the witness appeal line on 020 8246 9820, quoting 4903/12Feb26.
The Met Police added: “Police are appealing for witnesses after a 94-year-old man was killed in a collision with a van in Hackney. The driver of the van stopped at the scene. No arrests have been made at this stage and enquiries are ongoing. Police would now like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, or may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident.”
