The incredible panoramic view from Frank's Cafe, one of the best things to do in Peckham. 1 hour plans in London

In case you hadn’t noticed, over on this little corner of the internet, we’re pretty darn fond of London. And as far as I’m concerned, the entirety of our capital city is as cool as a cucumber. But (as I’m sure you might have guessed, based on that last sentence) I’m not wildly qualified to cast judgement on what can be considered cool or not. So rather than putting my own two cents in on the matter; I’ll leave it to The Telegraph, who have kindly just revealed the coolest neighbourhoods in London.

Having scoured the length and breadth of the city, The Telegraph compiled a handy list of London’s trendiest areas. Hip-and-happening hotspots from every corner of the capital made the list. But only one could take the crown. And that, my friends, was Peckham.

The coolest neighbourhood in London

Similarly to how my housemates would describe me; London’s coolest neighbourhood was hailed ‘loud, messy and more than a bit chaotic’. Cultural, characterful, and ever-so cool; Peckham is filled to the brim with brilliant bars and boozers, world-class restaurants, independent stores, eclectic street art, and a rather impressive music scene, too.

This loveable locale was praised for its great value and even greater vibes. Home to the likes of the Bussey Building (a converted Victorian warehouse that now boasts – among other things – a rooftop cinema and a yoga studio), the Cornerhouse (a former department store that’s now offers a whole host of bars, restaurants, and sensational city views), Peckham Park, Copeland Gallery and Nunhead Cemetary; it’s come a long way since its days as Del Boy and Rodney’s stomping groundthat’s for sure.

London’s coolest neighbourhoods (according to The Telegraph):

  1. Peckham
  2. Ladbroke Grove
  3. Bethnal Green
  4. Leyton
  5. Deptford
  6. Tooting
  7. Walthamstow
  8. Hackney Wick
  9. Finsbury Park
  10. Soho

You can peruse The Telegraph’s full findings here.
