The British Transport Police have released images of a man they need to speak to in connection

07:59, 06 Mar 2026Updated 08:00, 06 Mar 2026

Police investigating the brutal assault of a London Underground passenger have released images of man they need to locate. The male victim was on a Jubilee line service near Westminster shortly before 10am on February 4 when a man sat opposite began gesturing towards him.

When he asked what was being said, the man jumped up and repeatedly punched the victim in the head. Other passengers were forced to intervene as the perpetrator launched a second attack.

The victim sustained bruising and cuts to his face, head and shoulder, and required hospital treatment. The British Transport Police has now launched an appeal to help in ongoing enquiries.

A statement reads: “Officers believe the man in the image may have information that can help their investigation.” The photos show a bald man, of medium build, with a greying beard and black glasses.

He is wearing a matching light blue hoodie and joggers under a beige coat.

Anyone who recognises the man or witnessed the incident is urged to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference number 2600014624. Anonymous reports can be made to Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111.
