The Black Rock Desert isn’t the most frequented part of Nevada, but since 1990 the Burning Man festival has made its home there. For a week in late August and early September “Burners” congregate in a tent city and celebrate the artistic spectrum through music, installations and, of course, the titular combustible effigy.
