As magical as exploring the world with your mini-adventurers may be; there’s no denying that travelling with children comes with its fair share of challenges. The packing, the price, the plethora of soft toys that they insist on taking with them everywhere they go, and the perpetual ‘are we there yet?’s. It’s a lot. Trying to strike the perfect balance between keeping them entertained with a jam-packed itinerarybut not tiring them out so much that they fall asleep face-first into their spag bol at teatime. Again, it’s a lot.

But we come bearing some good news for any somewhat overwhelmed holiday-planning parents out there. One item can be checked off of that outrageously long to-do list of yours, because Conde Nast Traveller have very kindly curated a list of the very best places in Europe to travel to with children. And we’re here to point you in the right direction.

The roll-call of Europe’s 30 most kid-friendly places to travel was created based on a variety of factors. The amount of child-friendly attractions and activities was taken into account, along with the number of family-friendly accommodation options, and – most importantly – how many kid-centric parks and green spaces there’s access to.

Unsurprisingly to us, London nabbed a comfy spot on the list. Our big, bright playground of a capital city is undeniably one of the best places to visit with childrenwith a list of family-friendly things to do as long as the staircase at Covent Garden station.

Little ones can follow in the footsteps of their favourite movie characters, from Paddington Bear to Sherlock Holmes. Budding historians can have a snoop around the historic likes of the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, and the London Dungeon. And mini nature-lovers can revel in the leafy green goodness of Kew Gardens, Primrose Hill and Hyde Park (just to name a few). Throw in the abundance of family friendly museums, restaurants, hotels, and West End shows in London; and I reckon you’ve found yourself the perfect kid-friendly destination right here.

The 10 most kid-friendly place to visit in Europe
