Well, choosing the perfect spot is going to be easy peasy lemon Christmas pudding squeezy this year. The lovely lot over at JeffBet have done some research, crunched some numbers, and revealed the merriest and the brightest festive destinations (festinations, if you will). And guess what? London has received yet another shiny award to add to its ever-growing trophy cabinet.
That’s right: London has taken the top spot as TikTok’s favourite city for the ultimate winter experience – and we’re feeling pretty darn smug about it.
The new study analysed social media data to determine which cities were the most-talked about and – more importantly – the most hash-tagged about. In total, London had almost 71 million winter-related hashtags. Leading the race with a whopping 10.9 million mentions on TikTok was #LondonChristmasMarket – which makes sense seeing as we our the proud owners of a plethora of cosy Christmas markets.
Our good pals up in Manchester came in at third place, nabbing the bronze medal with their magical markets and all-round merriness. Edinburgh follow closely behind in forth place, boasting a admirable 24.1 million winter-related hashtags.
A spokesperson at JeffBet has commented on the study: “This study highlights the best places for a winter experience for locals and visitors alike according to TikTok hashtag data, with London coming out on top alongside cities in the U.K., U.S., Canada and Europe.”
