Another day, another twinkling item to proudly display inside London’s jam-packed trophy cabinet. And we’re really going to have to shuffle things around to make some space for this one, folks – because it’s a biggie. For the eleventh year running, London has been named the best city in the world. And look, we’re not particularly surprised to hear it, but it’s nice to have it in writing, you know?

This glistening accolade comes courtesy of the annual World’s Best Cities Report. Backed by Resonance Consultancy, the yearly report uses a unique blend of data-driven analysis and real-life perception to spotlight the top 100 cities that are shaping the future of our planet.

In order to curate this handy list of the world’s best cities (the most comprehensive of its kind, in fact); the team at Resonance scoured the planet, sifting through each city as they went. They evaluated cities based on three core pillars: Liveability, Loveability, and Prosperity. A city’s ‘Liveability’ refers to its walkability, parks and nature offering, public transport, and air quality. Its ‘Loveability’ refers to the city’s culture and culinary scenes, attractions, and social media engagement. And a city’s ‘Prosperity’ is referring to its economic value, educational attainment, and airport connectivity).

London has been named the best city in the world… again

Having carefully combined all of the data, statistics, and research (some of which came from a landmark survey that received 21,000 responses); the numbers were thoroughly crunched, and the facts were confirmed. London is the best city in the worldand has officially reigned supreme for eleven years running. London managed to fight off some pretty tough competition, with New York City taking the second spot, and Paris coming in third place.

Laura CitronCEO of London & Partnerssaid on the news: “London is a city of constant reinvention. It is this remarkable commitment to ongoing growth that has seen us retain our crown as the World’s Best City.”

The World’s Best Cities:

  1. London
  2. New York
  3. Paris
  4. Tokyo
  5. Madrid
  6. Singapore
  7. Rome
  8. Dubai
  9. Berlin
  10. Barcelona
