The festival will take place at Jacksons Lane and Soho Theatre, featuring an array of UK and international performers.

Running from June 16 to July 4, the festival will celebrate the art of clowning and physical performance, with a programme full of contemporary clowning acts.

The festival, now a staple in the London comedy scene, offers a wide variety of performances, from cabarets to solo pieces, each pushing the boundaries of modern clowning.

This year’s line-up includes performers from around the globe, showcasing a mix of styles that encompass physical theatre, improvisation and emotional honesty.

The festival also introduces new elements, such as physical theatre pieces that incorporate clowning techniques.

Highlights of the festival include The Weight of Shadow by Sasha Krohn, a physical theatre piece that combines mime, dance, and aerial work to depict a psychiatric patient’s emotional chaos over a single day.

Red Bastard, the master of Bouffon, known for his unpredictable mix of raw conversation, comic traps, and high-stakes audience interaction, also features in the line-up.

He returns to London for the first time in eight years.

Berlin’s Otto & Astrid: The Stages Tour will also appear, as well as Lachlan Werner: Wondertwunk, offering a surreal circus of stunts, secrets, and minimal lip movement.

Jessica Barton: Dirty Work, fresh from winning Best Newcomer at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, also joins the list.

The festival will open with the London Clown Festival Opening Cabaret, giving audiences a chance to see a mix of artists from across the festival.

A Night of Drama and the Naughty Cabaret, a high-energy queer feminist cabaret, are also part of the festival’s highlights.

Founded in 2016, the London Clown Festival aims to share the joy of clown and physical performance with a wide audience, expanding the public perception of clowning.

The festival runs at various times, with ticket prices ranging from £13 to £27, plus booking fees.
