More than £3bn is set to be invested in the north west’s water infrastructure – and local people have the chance to be on the frontline of the important improvements.
Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) delivers multi-million pound projects with eight of the UK’s largest water and wastewater companies – including United Utilities which covers the north west.
Combining the design expertise of Mott MacDonald with contracting experience of JN Bentley, it provides fully integrated civil engineering feasibility, design, construction and commissioning services to the sector.
Earlier this year, MMB secured places on two AMP8 frameworks with United Utilities. This will see the long-standing relationship between the two companies extend to at least 2030 – bringing great opportunities and benefiting the everyday lives of people across the region.
Unmissable career opportunities
Following the recent landmark frameworks, MMB is currently recruiting for roles across a range of engineering design disciplines.
Recruitment is taking place within project/site management; commercial; civil, mechanical, process, and electrical engineering; BIM and digital; and geotechnics and environment.
To find out more, you can attend the company’s upcoming event on Thursday, October 24, 2024, where you can meet colleagues from MMB for an evening of networking.
Kicking off the evening will be a short presentation from MMB directors who will share more about the business, followed by a Q&A, and an opportunity to network with peers and MMB colleagues.
The event will take place from 6pm to 9pm at the Voco Hotel in Manchester – register here now.
Investing in the north west
Comprising seven engineering and infrastructure organisations, the partnership is set to be responsible for more than £3bn of major infrastructure work in the north west.
Investment includes upgrades to wastewater treatment works and reducing storm overflows through the delivery of the largest spill reduction programme in the UK, as well as protecting more than 500km of rivers and bathing waters.
David Marsh, MMB operations director, said: “AMP8 is a hugely important period for the UK water sector, and we’re pleased to be collaborating with United Utilities to support them in delivering major investment for customers across the north west of England.
“MMB brings great experience in the detailed design and build space. We have a large, directly employed frontline workforce and pride ourselves on the safe and efficient delivery of affordable, sustainable solutions for clients across the UK water sector.
“We’re excited for what AMP8 holds and look forward to supporting United Utilities to leave a lasting legacy.”
