The five-bedroom Lavender House, located in Hampstead, north London, was once named one of the top 10 most beautiful homes in the world by The Sunday Times.

Singer Craig David reportedly commissioned a similar home featuring the same signature glass pool design in nearby Camden, as reported by our sister title London Now.

Heidi Locher, who designed Lavender House with her late husband Richard Paxton, has placed the property on the market.

Mr Paxton was a relative of Joseph Paxton, who built London’s famous Crystal Palace in 1851, and the home’s glass walls and retractable roofs are a nod to that legacy.

Oliver Hamilton, director of Hamilton Property, said: “Opportunities to acquire homes of this calibre in the very best part of Hampstead are exceptionally rare.

“This is a house that genuinely stops you in your tracks.

“From the moment you step inside, the scale, light and craftsmanship are breathtaking.

“Lavender House is modern architecture at its absolute finest.”

Running alongside this space is a bespoke glass swimming pool, which serves as a defining feature of the property.

Sitting just beyond the master bedroom, a glass wall recedes at the press of a button, revealing the water at the end of the bed.

At one end of the reception room is an open-plan kitchen and dining area, while the opposite comprises a fully-equipped gym.

The master suite includes a dressing room and indulgent his-and-hers bathrooms.

Two additional suites are located beyond the gym, each with private sitting rooms, kitchenettes, and access to a secluded garden patio.

A guest suite is located on the first floor, along with a self-contained studio or guest annexe with its own entrance.

A basement media room, ideal for film screenings, offers a unique view of the pool from below.

Tucked away on Gayton Road, Lavender House offers a quiet sanctuary amid the hustle and bustle of the city.

The house is a stone’s throw from the boutiques, cafés and restaurants of the village, and within easy walking distance of the open expanses of Hampstead Heath.

Mr Hamilton, who recently starred on Netflix’s Buying London show and helped comedian Ricky Gervais find a new home, described Lavender House as a rare opportunity to own a truly remarkable piece of modern design.
