KAI 360 Construction Services (KAI 360 CS) is pleased to welcome back Jay Sigmund, PE, DBIA as Senior Project Manager at its St. Louis office. Sigmund previously served as a KAI Project Manager from 2005-2016 and brings extensive industry experience to his returning role.
Sigmund is experienced in design-build, project management, construction management and construction inspection. His work experience includes wastewater systems, commercial, government and institutional buildings, mass residential construction and bridges.
As a Senior Project Manager, his responsibilities include constructability reviews, estimating, procurement, scheduling, overall management of at-risk and construction management projects and serving as the principal liaison to the client. Sigmund is currently working on KAI 360 CS projects for the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD), including the Bissell and Lemay Wastewater Treatment Facility Fluidized Bed Incinerators project.
“Jay and I have worked together in one form or another for over 25 years in the AEC industry,” said KAI 360 CS President Bruce Wood, PE. “He is a respected AEC professional with over 30 years of successful projects, and I am extremely happy and grateful to have Jay rejoin us at KAI.”
Prior to his rehire at KAI, Sigmund was a Construction Manager for multi-national design and construction firm Jacobs Engineering in St. Louis where he was involved in project design as well as management of wastewater and building projects.
His 34-year career includes work on a variety of projects, including:
- Construction management and inspection services for the addition of a chemical disinfection system at MSD’s Coldwater Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project also included rehabilitation of an existing contact tank and installation of new control gates, underground chemical piping and chemical storage.
- Design and construction of a 21,000-square-foot retail facility and underground target range at American Arms in Ballwin, MO.
- Design and construction of a 1,200-foot-long pedestrian connector bridge on the BJC HealthCare/Washington University Medical Center campus in St. Louis.
- Construction management for a new $4 million, 110,000-square-foot business school building for Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Sigmund has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and is a member of the Design-Build Institute of America. He lives in St. Paul, MO with his wife Kathy and enjoys hunting, fishing, making cheese and singing in his church’s choir. He has three grown daughters and two grandchildren.
