On March 5, the reality TV world was rocked by news Sister wives star Garrison Brown and his mother Janelle Brown have not posted on TikTok since his tragic death. The Brown family made its television debut when the series premiered in 2010. Utah man Kody Brown, his three wives and their 12 children were introduced to the world. Janelle was Kody’s third wife and they had six children together, including Garrison. The show was supposed to tell about a functioning extended family, but it focused on the sad disintegration of the family.
During Sister wives in season 1, Kody married his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, whom he is often accused of favoring. With her three children from her first marriage and the two she had with Kody at the time, the number of brown children grew to 18. resentment ran rampant among the other wives and older children. The family was further divided by the COVID-19 pandemic, and they were never able to reunite. Although Janelle hasn’t posted on TikTok since Garrison’s death, her past posts sadly show just how divided the Brown family has become.

The holidays were a big turning point for the Brown family, who had always celebrated them together, under one roof. Everything changed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Kody and Robyn took the virus very seriously and enacted rules to mitigate the virus that were even stricter than the CDC. When Kody’s older children, especially Garrison and Gabriel Brown, could not follow the rules, Kody stopped seeing them and for the first time the Browns spent the holidays in different homes.
This was a watershed for the Brown family from which they would never recover.
On Christmas Day in 2023 To Jane posted several Christmas photos on TikTok. The pictures include e.g her children enjoy the holiday with Christine, to the tune of “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas” by Michael Bublé. Gabriel needs his mother now more than ever
To Jane started posting on TikTok in December 2022 with a little help from Gabriel with a caption that reads “My first Tik Tok (…) Hello world !” Unfortunately, Gabriel found his brother’s body. Janelle was worried after Garrison sent several disturbing texts. When Sister wives the season 18 star couldn’t reach him, he sent Gabriel to check on him. Gabriel found The 25-year-old National Guardsman died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his Flagstaff, Arizona.
At 22, Gabriel was close in age to his now deceased brother, so they grew up side by side. Even as adults, they lived together for a short time. When Garrison bought his home in Arizona in 2021, Gabriel moved in with his brother and lived together as roommates. During COVID-19 Gabriel and Garrison became even closer as their father shunned them. Not only did Gabriel lose his brother, but finding his body must have been traumatic. Janelle is worried about Gabriel and is determined to be there for him.

After the divorce, Janelle tried to spend as much time as possible with her children. The mother of six had sent her youngest child, Savanah Brown, to college and found herself in an empty nest. In December 2023 To Jane spent several pre-Christmas nights at Maddie’s and posted a TikTok of herself enjoying all the sounds of Christmas Eve in a house full of kids. Janelle says that Mykelti and her children are also staying there. Mykelti is the daughter of Christine Brown, Kody’s ex-third wife, Christine, which shows how close the siblings still are.

Weeks before Garrison’s death
Although Janelle has continued to post on Instagram, her last TikTok post appeared at the end of January 2024. Just a few weeks before Garrison’s untimely death, To Jane posted a TikTok of him wrestling chickens At Maddie’s house.
