Big return after 3 years absence
On February 20th at 18:00 (KST), IU officially released her sixth mini-album “The Winning” on all platforms. This marks the country sister’s return to the Korean music scene after a three-year absence.
As if to prove her unrivaled status in Korea, IU went all out for the 5 songs from her latest album, along with 4 stunning MVs released.
The MV for the title track “Shopper” was released at the same time as “The Winning”. Featuring a powerful sounding Electro-Pop Rock arrangement, “Shopper” also reveals a seamless transition of guitar sounds that showcase IU’s vocals through stimulating high notes.
IU is also known to collaborate with male artist DPR Ian in the MV “Shopper”. Together, they create a space filled with vibrant colors, creating a magical atmosphere.
Earlier, on February 16, IU released the MV for another song from her album, “Holssi.” With a vibrant color palette reminiscent of youth, “Holssi” showcases IU’s timeless imagery.
“Holssi” would also embody IU’s carefree and liberated spirit, in her thirties. In the description of the song, she expresses: “At the age of 30, I realized that everything in life did not have to be or become flowers, so I decided to live like a dandelion seed, floating gently in the sky. »
With ‘Holssi’, IU seemed to have pulled out all the stops – as the MV was not only filmed in the US, but also features Tweety – the famous yellow bird from Looney Tunes.
Since IU is known to have set Tweety as her Instagram avatar since the beginning of her career, her collaboration with Tweety once again proves the reputation of the singer-actress.

In addition to the two main songs “Shopper” and “Holssi”, IU’s latest EP “The Winning” also contains 3 tracks: “Love Wins All”, “Sh..” and “I stan U”.
