Developed by Japanese studio Pocket Pair, the action-adventure survival game shifted 5 million copies in three days alone.
For context, that beats out every PlayStation exclusive in its complete history – though Palworld is cheaper and available on Xbox Game Pass. Still, it’s pretty impressive.

Since launching in the middle of January, Palworld has skyrocketed up the Steam charts, with players around the world seemingly captivated by the idea of teaming up with these colourful creatures and a full arsenal of weapons.
Now the question looms of when, and if, Palworld will arrive on the likes of Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4 and more.
To break this all down, head below for all the Palworld platform details you need to know about.
Which platforms is Palworld coming to at launch?
Palworld is available to play on Zbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC (Microsoft Windows) at launch.
On top of this, Palworld will be arriving on both the Xbox and PC platforms via Xbox Game Pass, however, you can also purchase the game as a premium product on Steam for an RRP of £24.99. Perhaps when the game exits early access, we’ll start to see it pop up on other platforms.
Is Palworld on Mac?
Palworld is not officially available on Mac, although there is a workaround available to get the game running on the platform.
While the game won’t run at the highest settings, it will be playable if you install the CrossOver software.
The compatibility layer software designed for Mac, Linux and ChromeOS allows you to run Windows-based applications on these platforms – such as Steam.
- Download CrossOver 23.5 (or latest edition)
- Open CrossOver and install Steam
- Log in to Steam
- Exit Steam
- Open Steam CrossOver Application settings
- Turn on D3D Metal and Msync
- Relaunch Steam
- Download/purchase Palworld
- Launch Palworld and play
It’s worth noting that CrossOver requires a subscription, starting from £60 for 12 months. A free 14-day trial is also available to test it out. D3D Metal is a game porting toolkit for translation layers, while Msync will help improve performance.

Developers Pocket Pair has not announced any intention of bringing Palworld to Mac in an official capacity, with other platforms like PlayStation and Nintendo likely being more of a priority. If anything changes, we’ll update this article.
Could Palworld come to PS4, PS5 or Nintendo Switch in future?
Palworld could potentially come to PS5 in the future. This was confirmed by developer Pocketpair via its official Discord server in an FAQ.
A post states it doesn’t “have plans for this at the moment, but will consider it during development”. Given that Palworld is a day-one exclusive for Xbox Game Pass, this may go some way towards explaining why it isn’t appearing on any Sony machine.
If it were, we can only assume that it would come to the PS4 as well, seeing as Palworld can be played on Xbox One. Nothing has been said of the game coming to Nintendo Switch, though.
Palworld runs on Unreal Engine 5, which is compatible with the Nintendo Switch, but it may be a better fit for the long-rumoured Switch 2. We’ll let you know if we hear anything!
Palworld is available in early access across Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.
