South East London’s favorite Indian restaurant, Babur, has announced the sad end of an era. For the past three years, they have been serving their food in a Rajasthani tent.
It served as an extension of Babur’s restaurant space, but now the restaurant has announced that the tent will be dismantled. It will be taken down on Sunday, February 18.
But before the tent comes down, Babur throws one last hurray in the tent area on Thursday, February 15. The Marquee Farewell Buffet Dinner is open to all and tickets can be booked here.
Tickets cost £45 per person, and you’ll be treated to an exceptional Babur-style meal. After a welcome glass of sparkling wine, you can choose between cod cheek fritters, grilled chicken and a chickpea and dill cake to start.
Mains include Old Delhi Chicken Curry, Mutton Curry, Biryani, Baby Monk Fish Fillets in Kaldin Gravy and more. There will also be salads and dips to choose from, such as South Indian coleslaw and raita.
For dessert, you can choose between cardamom and fig kheer or barley and coconut pudding with raisins. Throughout the evening, guests will also be treated to performances from the Bollywood Vibes dance group.
You can Book tickets for the Marquee Farewell Buffet Dinner here. Find Babur at 119 Brockley Rise, Forest Hill, London SE23 1JP, or order their food from Deliveroo.
