According to Capital.ro, the businessman Dragoș Sprînceană, settled in the United States, published a message in which he advances a hypothesis related to the political future of Călin Georgescu.

In a post on the X platform, Sprînceana claims that, in the near future, Călin Georgescu would launch his own political party. The statement comes in a context where Georgescu’s name continues to generate intense debates, including among Romanians in the diaspora, where he had vocal supporters.

“Prediction: In the near future Călin Georgescu will launch his own new party. There will be an imbalance in many parties, because many members of the existing parties will ally with his party”, wrote Dragoș Sprînceana.

He also suggested that Georgescu would have received several political offers until now, but the fact that he has not yet launched a party would indicate, in his opinion, the refusal of these proposals.

“I am not affiliated to any party”

In the same message, Sprînceana specified that he is not politically affiliated and that he has no ties to PSD, PNL, AUR, USR or Călin Georgescu.

“I am not affiliated with PSD, PNL, AUR, USR or Călin Georgescu. I am completely impartial and I only want the good of Romania,” he wrote, adding that he does not seek any material benefit and does not intend to get directly involved in Romanian politics.

Two names mentioned in the post

In his message, Dragoș Sprînceană stated that two people would not have a place in a possible political formation launched by Călin Georgescu. He nominated George Simion and Anca Alexandrescu, claiming that they would have used Georgescu’s image to gain political capital.

The statements represent the opinion expressed in the post published on the X platform, and until this moment there is no official announcement from Călin Georgescu regarding the launch of a new party.

For Romanians in Great Britain, where the community exceeds one million people, possible changes in the Romanian political scene can influence the electoral options in the diaspora. It remains to be seen whether this “prediction” will materialize in the coming period.
