Yup, you read that right folks – none other than Wolverine himself has been announced as a headline act for the BST Hyde Park festival next summer. Hugh Jackman – the Tony-winner and Oscar-nominated actor – will return to the UK stage for the first time in five years with a new live show. And honestly, we’re here for it! He’ll headline the festival’s July 6 date; special guests and supporting acts will be revealed soon.
While it might seem a strange choice to some, Hugh Jackman’s prowess as a singer and performer is well-known to his fans. His show at American Express presents BST Hyde Park will see him running through a medley of musical theatre classics while being accompanied by a live orchestra. He’ll perform iconic songs from the likes of The Greatest Shoman (of course), Les Miserables (naturally), and the cult The Boy From Ozamong many others. And he’s promising some special surprises for his fans, too!
Hugh Jackman recently announced a series of performances in New York with his new Hugh Jackman Live: From New York With Love. The show sees him taking to the stage at the iconic Radio City Music Hall for a series of US concerts in 2025.
Other headliners at BST Hyde Park
Hugh Jackman joins Zach Bryan and Jeff Lynne’s ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) as the currently announced headliners. Zach Bryan will headline two nights – June 29 and 29 – while Jeff Lynne’s ELO will take to the festival stage on July 13 for a special ‘goodbye’ performance.
More headliners will be announced over the coming months. Last year alone saw the likes of SZA, Kings of Leon, Andrea Bocelli, Robbie Williams, Shania Twain, Stevie Nicks, Kylie Minogue, and more headlining. Suffice it to say – we can expect many more BIG names!
