With Pokemon Go take back Primal Groudon a Primal Kyogre For Raid Day events this month, many trainers have finally gotten their hands on these powerful legendaries.

Introduced in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Primal return is a special transformation that only these two Pokémon can undergo. In lore, it is said to restore Pokemon to all of their previous power, which works much like Mega Evolution.

If you’ve been lucky enough to catch a Primal Groudon, Primal Kyogre, or both, here’s what you need to know to get more Primal Energy so you can make the most of their incredible power.

How to get more primary energy for Groudon and Kyogre in Pokemon Go

It exists three ways to get extra primary energy in Pokemon Go . They are as follows:

  • Defeat Primal Groudon or Primal Kyogre during raids
  • Carry out specific research tasks
  • Walk with Groudon or Primal Kyogre like a friend

Note that, just as with Mega Energy for Mega Evolution Primary energy is species specific, so you can’t use Kyogre’s primary energy on Groudon and vice versa.

Defeating Primal Pokemon is the easiest way to get more Primal Energy. This will give you 80 to 100 ura energies each time . But aside from being difficult, these raids are limited by Pokemon Go’s event schedule.

As for Special Research, the only task Primal Energy offers so far is Chasing Legends, which you had to unlock during the event Go Tour: Hoenn from February 2023. Completing this will give you 200 primary energies as a single reward.

The only consistently repeatable method of getting primal energy in Pokemon Go is crafting subject Groudon or Kyogre to a primary reversion at least once and then hang out with them as a buddy . This will take some time, as you will get 100 hours of energy every 20 km .

The latter method can be a bit tedious, but it’s the only way to get extra Primary Energy, no matter what happens in Pokemon Go.
