A good girl’s guide to murder presents an interesting murder mystery story revolving around the search for Andie Bell’s killer.
The limited series follows Pip Fitz-Amob (Emma Myers) as he uncovers the truth behind the disappearance of Andie Bell (India Lillie Davies). The case, believed by many in her local town, has been closed due to the confession of her boyfriend Sal Singh.
A good girl’s guide to murder premieres on BBC iPlayer in the UK on 1 July. It was then released on Netflix on August 1st.

Pip’s investigation into the disappearance and possible death of Andie Bell initially concerns his EPQ (aka Extended Project Qualification), but he goes deeper to solve the case and his determination is vital to uncovering the truth.
Pip finds out that his teacher and best friend’s father Elliot (Matthew Baynton) is the guy Andie had a secret affair with.
Although Elliot has cut ties with Andie, he still asks her to give him £5,000 in exchange for not telling everyone he had sex with an underage.
Elliot refuses, leading to an argument, and Andie hits her head on the countertop, resulting in a concussion. With Andie still hurt, she rushes home to find Becca (Carla Woodcock).
Pip realizes that Becca killed Andie after an argument at their house.
Why did Becca kill Andie?
Pip learns that Max (Henry Ashton) drugs and raped Becca and the drugs used were the same ones from Andie’s stash. This information is crucial to why Becca accidentally kills her own sister.
On the fateful night of April 19, 2019, Andie tells Becca that she is going to move out of the house and leave her sister with their strict father Jason (Matthew Chambers).
However, Becca wants to go to the police and report Max after he rapes her, but Andie doesn’t want her to because she’ll get in trouble as Max’s drug supplier.
Andie’s revelations don’t sit well with Becca as he pushes her so hard that she falls over and chokes on her vomit. Andie’s concussion from her earlier confrontation with Elliot combined with Becca’s work is enough to kill her.
Becca then hides his body in a nearby underground location and acts like nothing happened. He reveals all this to Pip and even manages to bring him to the site of Andie’s body.
He also almost kills Pip after revealing the truth, but luckily Ravi (Zain Iqbal), Cara (Asha Banks) and the police arrive just in time.
Did Elliot kill Sal Singh?
Sal Singh (Rahul Pattni) is Andie’s boyfriend who is accused of her murder “confessed.” Initially, the case was closed to the police because a text sent from his phone confirmed the idea that he was the prime suspect.
However, Pip and Sal’s brother Ravi work together to prove Sal’s innocence, and there is actually more to the story.
Elliot and Andie’s argument, which leads to Andie’s concussion and eventual disappearance, plays a key role in Sal’s death.
Elliot panics because he believes Andie died from her head injury. In a desperate attempt to cover up his wrongdoing, he used Sal as a scapegoat, drugging him and eventually killing him.
He then uses Sal’s phone to confess to Andie’s murder, but he makes a glaring mistake that eagle-eyed investigators like Pip manage to spot.
Pip, who gets Sal’s phone, realizes that the confession is written with perfect grammar and punctuation, unlike his other messages.
This led to Elliot being arrested for Sal’s murder and, to make matters worse, kidnapping an innocent woman and leaving her in the attic of his old home.
Who was the woman in Elliot’s attic?
After finding out that the “Secret Older Guy” who had an affair with Andie is Elliot, Pip leaves his phone in his car so he can track him down later.
She later finds out that he is staying at his old family home to confront him about Andie and Sal. Although Elliot tells the truth about his part in Andie’s story, he doesn’t say anything about Sal.
This is where the woman in Elliot’s attic came in. Pip alerted him after the constant banging of the pipes, after which he rushed to the attic.
That person is Isla (Georgia Lock), a girl Elliot meets one night who he thinks is Andie because they look alike. Elliot brings her back to her old house, where she reveals that she killed Sal.
To realize his mistake and prevent her from spreading the revelation to the police, Elliot locks Isla in the attic for five years, but Pip finally saves her when he asks Ravi to send the police and arrest the sinister English teacher.
Outside of Andie and Sal, Isla is the person who suffers the most. It also shows how Elliot can go to great lengths to maintain his freedom and reputation from others.
Who threatened Pip?
Good part A good girl’s guide to murder sees Pip threatened with harsh notes and dark texts over his ongoing investigation into Andie’s death.
In Episode 2, Pip finds a note that reads: “STOP DIGGING THE PIPP” which he finds in his sleeping bag on Cara’s birthday trip.
It is later revealed that it was Elliot who slipped into the sleeping bag, which was convenient for him due to his friends trip.
The blackmailer suspected of killing Pip and their family dog Barney is revealed to be Becca, Andie’s sister and the killer.
Will Ravi and Pip end up together?
all the time A good girl’s guide to murderPip and Ravi have undeniable chemistry, and a kiss between the pair would easily cement their love for each other.
After dating two prime suspects, a lengthy investigation, and casual flirting, the pair finally share a kiss in the final moments of the series, hinting that they will end up together.
Even though Pip gets his happy ending with Ravi, he still has a lot on his plate as he has to deal with his looming application to Cambridge while avenging Max’s rape victims.
Pip’s journey in A good girl’s guide to murder gives him a purpose and makes him realize that uncovering the truth is what he’s good at. Although Andie and Sal’s case is over, Pip’s story is just beginning to unravel.
