I come bearing a date that should be immediately marked in your shiny new calendars, folks. January 2 (that’s today!) marks the start of Great Western Railway’s January sale. And as Londoners begrudgingly return to their desks) we can be cheered by the news of 150,000 substantially discounted train tickets going up for grabs.
GWR operates services from London Paddington to the likes of Bath, Bristol, Exeter, Oxford, and Cardiff, and is delivering new year cheer by the carriage-load with the arrival of its rail sale.
The sale comes as part of Great Western Railway’s endeavour to encourage train travel and make the southwest region easier to access, explore and enjoy. Over the next week, 100,000 standard-class tickets and 50,000 first-class tickets to many popular destinations will be sold at far lower prices than usual. How low are we talking? Well, you could potentially get your hands on tickets that will take you from London to Bristol for just £21(!).
The sale is running from January 2 to January 9 and tickets are valid for journeys between January 10 and April 13. Those planning on making use of the sale, however, are advised to do so as early as possible. The sale tickets are limited and are likely to be snapped up right quick!
GWR sales and marketing director, Amanda Burnssaid: “The January sale is designed to encourage people off the sofa and away from the post-Christmas telly, to explore the fantastic sights of the south-west instead. Our advance fares offer great value throughout the year, but in our sale you’ll find some great deals available on some of the lowest fares.”
The Great Western Railway January sale is now live on their website from today, and will run until January 9. Don’t miss out!
