Fans believe they’ve narrowed down a release window for GTA 6, thanks to a new job listing for developer Rockstar Games.
After years of rumors and speculation, Rockstar Games finally unleashed a trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 in December 2023. at
The sneak peek’s final few moments promised a 2025 launch window, without hinting at which part of the year would bring the game to store shelves.
Such a nebulous time frame hasn’t stopped eager GTA faithful from making passing guesses. And it seems the guessing game will continue to ramp up if discourse surrounding a recent job ad is anything to go by.
Rockstar job ad could hint at release window for GTA 6
Over the weekend, Reddit user TwistLT spotted a new job posting for Rockstar Lincoln, the company’s North Hykeham-based satellite in the UK. The ad is for a Russian localization role, specifically a contract gig that will last for exactly 12 months.
Notably, the Redditor points out that the GTA 6 role will require contractors to “Perform localization QA to ensure the final product quality is as high as possible.”
The “final product” wording seems essential here; as the user surmises, the studio’s not likely to hire a language tester, then let them go in March 2025 if the game’s on track for release later in the year. As such, the thinking is that GTA 6 could hit store shelves sometime in early 2025.
Of course, all of the above should be taken with a grain of salt for the time being. Rockstar and publisher Take-Two have yet to definitively reveal when GTA 6 will release, beyond sharing the 2025 launch window.
It’s presently not clear when the two plan on sharing more details about the game in general, either. Still, Grand Theft Auto fans hope new information will surface sooner rather than later.
