I was like, ‘He’s not coming. He is not coming. I don’t know how to do this.‘ Billy told Joan that he lit up when Chock returned. He replied, “I know. I was very happy.”

Joan could totally relate to him as she lost her husband John of 32 years to pancreatic cancer in 2021. It seems that Chock’s departure and return has made Joan realize how strong her feelings are for him. When he said he didn’t know how he was going to move on if she didn’t come back, he showed that he has perhaps the deepest connection with her.
