The Parisian restaurant group landed in London late last year
Alexandre Giesbert, Julien Rossand and Nico de Soto run two branches of DAROCO (and the DANICO cocktail bar) in Paris and now they’ve brought the Franco-Italian restaurant to Soho. Designed by architect Olivier Delannoy, who’s done all of the restaurants, the Soho location is a bit of a looker with lots of jewel tones, plush velvet furnishings, marble tabletops, a mirrored ceiling and a blue butterfly-adorned pizza oven, and it also boasts an outdoor terrace and underground cocktail bar Wacky Wombat.
That statement pizza oven turns out pizzas like the Mortadelight (with fior di latte, mortadella, stracciatella, pistachio cream and crushed pistachio), the Parmigiana (with tomato sauce, fried aubergine, stracciatella, Grana Padano and basil) and the Fiamma (with tomato sauce, fior di latte, spicy salami, ‘nduja, stracciatella, red onions and chilli oil). The DAROCO menu also includes other Italian faves like:
- leek and scamorza arancini
- veal with tuna sauce
- pheasant ravioli with butter and rosemary sauce
- paccheri with lobster bisque and lobster tail
- beef cheeks braised in red wine with polenta and gremolata
- tiramisu
- panna cotta with blood orange coulis
