Gareth Saywell has been appointed head chef at Bocca di Lupo in London’s Soho.
From next month, Gareth Saywell will lead the culinary team at Italian trattoria Bocca di Lupon in London’s Soho. In particular, he previously served as the restaurant’s sous chef between 2015 and 2018.
Gareth Saywell takes over from Jake Simpson, who was recently appointed head chef at the Wiltshire vicarage earlier this week.
Before returning to the restaurant, which was originally founded by Jacob Kenedy and Victor Hugo in 2008, Gareth Saywell held the position of head chef at Orasay in London’s Notting Hill. His most recent culinary experience was at Light Bar in Shoreditch, London.
He said: “I’m delighted to be returning to Bocca di Lupo as head chef after a few years away. We’re continuing our favorite dishes from across Italy, made with the best produce available. I can’t wait to work with Jacob and his fantastic team again.
Kenedy added: “I am absolutely delighted to welcome Gareth back to Bocca di Lupo. His love and knowledge of Italian cooking shines through in every dish he prepares and I look forward to eating his food again.
