Le Coq Epicier in Flask Walk is a sister store to the original in Camden Passage which opened a decade ago.

Both are pedestrianised streets full of independent traders and cafes.

The new store has moved in at number 6 and also applied to serve drink on the premises.

The brand was born in 2016 when founder Yohann Meignen toured the French regions discovering the best local wines and hand crafted artisan products.

His Camden Passage store sells cheese, bread, charcuterie, jam, chocolate, juices, biscuits, soups and store cupboard items and also runs cheese tastings with wine and other gastronomic events.

A post shared by Le Coq Epicier (@le_coq_epicier)

Posting on Instagram last month they wrote: “Le Coq Épicier is opening a new shop.
After almost 10 years in Angel, we are proud to be opening a new chapter in another truly special part of London — an area known for its village feel and strong sense of community.

“Our mission remains unchanged: to share the very best French food from small, independent producers with the Hampstead neighbourhood.”

On their website they add: “The passion behind Le Coq Epicier is Yohann, a fond lover of French gastronomy, its local producers, their authenticity and the diverse specialties shaped by the French ‘Terroir’.

“My idea: giving voice to my passion and bring to Londoners new and authentic products. These are carefully selected, hard to find specialties from French local producers who have crafted original, flavourful recipes from premium quality local ingredients.”

Le Coq Epicier can be found at 6 Flask Walk, Hampstead
