The move is designed to help people who are struggling financially stay connected to their family and friends. It is described as like a foodbank for data, providing free O2 mobile data, texts and calls – but you don’t need to be an O2 customer to use it.
Virgin Media O2 set up the National Databank with Good Things Foundation. The National Databank is like a foodbank but for free mobile data, texts and calls.
If you need more help staying connected, Good Things Foundation’s growing network of databank partners can provide support. Enter your postcode to find your nearest databank.
Virgin Media O2 has also boosted the amount of free data available via National Databank Digital Inclusion Hubs to 25GB per month for six months – enough for around 175 hours of internet browsing each month.
