When Disney’s Wish released online as digital and streaming?

When to watch Disney’s wish movie online in 2024
By When to streamThe latest offering from Disney’s Animation, Wish, will be released online for purchase on Tuesday, January 23. The digital release will come in 50 days Wish hit theaters on November 22.
Wish struggled with critics and received a 48 percent Rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, the Walt Disney Animation Studios film found much more success with the general public, garnering an 81% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and a strong A-CinemaScore.
But unfortunately, Wish still proved to be a flop at the box office, bringing in only $62.75 million domestically and a worldwide total of $209.77 million. Since this was against a $200 million production budget, Disney is relying on revenue from home releases to offset theatrical losses.
When will Wish be released on Disney+?
Looking at the previous two films from Disney Animation Studios, Charm and A strange world, both came to Disney+ just 30 days after hitting theaters. But the window Wish is much longer, as it has already been 50 days since the release of Disney’s 100th anniversary film:
- Charm: 24/11/2021–24/12/2021 (30 days)
- A strange world: 23/11/2022–23/12/2022 (30 days)
Turning our attention to Disney’s other major animation division, Pixar, its recent windows have been just 47 and 89 days. A light year and Elementalrespectively:
- A light year: 17.6.2022–3.8.2022 (47 days)
- Elemental: 16.6.2023–12.9.2023 (89 days)
Previous Disney animated films have come to Disney+ quickly, but the studio appears to be expanding that window. This is due to the recent struggles of Disney animated films at the box office following the now fired CEO Bob Chapek. “conditional ()audience” process these publications “no longer special”.
WishThe digital release comes 62 days after the theatrical debut. Since few Disney movies have surpassed the 90-day streaming wait, the Disney+ debut likely won’t be far behind the animated film.
watching ElementalThe Pixar movie came to Disney+ 28 days after its digital release Wish is likely to repeat a similar pattern, leaving it with an 89-90 day window from theater to streaming. As such, Wish will probably come to Disney+ February 20.
There is currently no information on when Wish is available for physical purchase on Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD, and DVD, but may arrive sometime in March a few weeks after the Disney+ launch based on past models.
Wish will be released digitally for purchase on Tuesday, January 23rd.
