Sir David Attenborough at the Natural History Museum in the main hall

When it comes to the natural world, there’s no one better to tell us a story than Sir David Attenborough. He’s watched the planet change over the last century, and is here to present a brand new immersive experience at the Natural History Museum about the tale of humankind.

It’s a first-of-a-kind event at the space, with the matchup of Attenborough’s dulcet tones and cinematic projection technology being a glove-like fit for the Natural History Museum, kicking off in June and running all the way through to January 2026.

‘Our Story With David Attenborough’

Visitors to the experience will shuffle through to the Jerwood Gallery to hear Sir David Attenborough draw on his vast experience and document the tale of, well, us (humankind). Images of the natural world will be beamed around through the state-of-the-art technology, with the walls and floors covered in a 360° for 50 minutes, which hopes to inspire visitors to help towards positive change for the world.

It starts at the inception of the world over four billion years agowith Attenborough taking us through our evolution and how humans came to change planet Earth. Expect to hear about whales of the ocean, gorillas, and looking towards the precious future of the planet. Our Story With David Attenborough comes just after the legendary explorer of the world turns 99 in May, and will feature him reflecting on his career as well as detail his hopes for the planet moving forward.

Speaking on the news, Sir David Attenborough said: “Humanity is the most influential species on Earth. We depend entirely on this magnificent planet, yet its future is in our hands. My hope is that visitors of all ages will experience our extraordinary journey at the Natural History Museum and come away feeling inspired, informed and most of all, empowered about their integral role in our world. This is our story and we can all play a significant role.”

Tickets to ‘Our Story With David Attenborough’ go on general sale on May 22, and adults tickets will be starting at £20. Dates begin in June and run until January 2026, though museum members will have the chance to access priority tickets for a show before anyone else on May 20 with a 50% discount.
