Cheers Noodle is said to have opened on Thursday (March 26) in Broadway Parade after closing its pop-up at The Globe pub in Marylebone at the end of November.
The new project has been under wraps with its social media channels shut down and the website only teasing “Cheers Noodle is temporarily closed as we prepare for our next chapter”.
But locals were quick to spot the newcomer to the neighbourhood which replaces vegan and veggie kitchen Miranda’s.
Crouch End Festival organiser and Ham&High columnist Chris Arnold posted a photo on the Hornsey Life Facebook page encouraging them to give it a try.
“It’s great to have a Chinese restaurant back in Crouch End,” he told the Ham&High.
“The last one closed about six months ago, and I think we have over 20 different nationalities and types of cuisine on offer locally now.”
Reviews of the Cheers Noodle residency Tripadvisor heaped praise on the residency namechecking the Biang Biang and Dan Dan noodles alongside signature fried chicken.
One posted: “Found this little noodle spot inside a pub in Marylebone – such a nice surprise! – the flavours are amazing!!!
“The Biang Biang noodles were chewy and full of flavour, and the Dan Dan noodles had just the right amount of spice. We also tried the fried chicken – so good!”
Another posted: “Incredibly good Chinese noodles. Can warmly recommend Dan Dan the noodles and biang biang the noodles. Good price, damn it.”
While a third wrote: “The Signature Biang Biang noodles in either chicken or beef are absolutely delicious and completely authentic! We’re coming back for more!! xx”
Over on Google reviews Cheers Noodle notched up a 4.9 rating with one simply writing: “This is my second time eating their Bian Biang noodles and I’m addicted!”
Responding to Mr Arnold’s post Crouch End residents wished luck to the new venture with one replying: “Finally a Chinese restaurant that isn’t your typical Chinese takeaway. I love Biang biang noodles so will definitely try!”
