Southwark Playhouse Borough has announced the full cast for Invisible Mea new comedy-drama by Bren Gosling running from 8 April to 2 May 2026, with press night on 10 April at 7.30pm.
Joining Only Fools and Horses star Tessa Peake-Jones are James Holmes and Kevin N Golding. Together they portray three sixty-year-old Londoners, each single for different reasons, who discover that some of life’s most exciting chapters can still unfold later in life.
Produced by BACKSTORY and Olivier nominated producer Joe Brown, Invisible Me explores themes of ageing, loneliness and the longing for companionship. Holmes plays Jack, an HIV+ widower after 35 years of marriage. Golding appears as Alec, a divorced father estranged from his children and nostalgic for his 1980s punk years. Peake-Jones plays Lynn, a hotel cleaner determined to rekindle her love life after surviving years of domestic abuse.
 
 
 
 
The comedy-drama shines a light on stories rarely centred on stage, particularly around bereavement, living with HIV, and navigating the modern dating world later in life. Peake-Jones said, “I’m so thrilled to be part of this new play about life after 60! It’s beautifully written by Bren Gosling and I think the cast will have great fun performing it and hopefully the audiences will come along on the ride with us! Southwark Playhouse Borough is the perfect venue.”
Directed by Scott Le Crass, the production features design by David Shields, lighting by Jodie Underwood, sound by Julian Starr and stage management by Dani White. The play gently but boldly uncovers the unexpected antics, vulnerabilities and triumphs of Lynn, Jack and Alec as they navigate their golden years.
