Acosta will also take to the stage with Acosta Danza principal Amisaday Naara in Us by Raúl Reinoso and Beatriz García, accompanied by live piano and cello.

The evening culminates with Christopher Bruce’s Roosterwith Acosta leading the Acosta Danza company in the iconic work set to songs by The Rolling Stones.

Speaking about the programme, Carlos Acosta said: ‘I am very happy to be bringing this programme to the Royal Ballet and Opera. This will be a joyful evening full of contrast and world firsts. Performing The Moor’s Pavane for the first time will be a real thrill. It was a favourite of Rudolf Nureyev’s and something that I never had the opportunity to perform before now. I also cannot wait to bring a taste of my Cuban Nutcracker in Havana to RBO audiences. Finally bringing Rooster to the RBO stage for the first time will be a fantastic feeling. I look forward to sharing all of that with everyone who will join me.’
