Counter-Strike 2, the sequel to the legendary CS:GO, aims to deliver a superior gaming experience, but concerns arise over the support for left-handed players. Here’s what we know about left-handed play in CS2.
At first launch of Counter-Strike 2 , the default configuration places players in a right-handed perspective. Therefore, your avatar in the game will use weapons and other equipment such as grenades and steam with his right hand.
Many players chose to switch to a left-handed sight in the original CS:GO, either out of preference or simply to override the weapon model. So it’s no surprise that players want to use this option in CS2 as well.
Is the left view in CS2?
At the time of writing, it is not not possible to use ViewModel left-handed in CS2 .
It is unclear why Valve chose to remove this option, which was previously possible in CS:GO with the command cl_righthand 0. If you try this command in Counter-Strike 2, it will simply not be recognized.
Theories such as player models and poor shadow adjustment are possible reasons for the omission of the left hand. Others argue that it is simply not necessary and is not the norm among other shooters. Although Valorant offers this option.
Valve may add the left hand later, as it is in high demand, both among casual gamers and in the professional scene. We will update this article as soon as it is possible to use the left hand in CS2.
Unfortunately, despite many complaints from the community and frequent updates from the developers, there have been no responses to those requesting a left-handed view.
Left view in CSGO was possible with a simple command.
Why use left hand in CS2?
If you are left-handed, it is obvious that you prefer to use a left-handed view in the game. If you are right-handed, you may find it useless to use a left-handed ViewModel.
But even many right-handed players use a controller to quickly switch between left and right hand. This is because your character’s weapons and arms can sometimes block your view, so changing it quickly frees up your vision on one side.
