The Government has announced the rollout of additional Best Start free breakfast clubs, which will soon be available at seven primary schools across Camden.
Richard Cobden Primary School, Edith Neville Primary School, Fleet Primary School, St Mary’s Kilburn Church of England Primary School, Brecknock Primary School, Hawley Primary School, and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School will join the scheme.
Councillor Marcus Boyland, cabinet member for best start for children and families at Camden Council, said: “Extending free breakfast clubs to more of our schools is a vital step in supporting Camden families. This will help break down barriers to opportunity enabling every child to start the school day ready to learn with a hungry mind, rather than a hungry belly.
“These clubs give parents more time and flexibility in the mornings to help them manage their own working lives or other caring responsibilities they may have.”
The scheme is part of Camden Council’s broader efforts to support families during the ongoing cost-of-living crisis by working closely with schools, families, and community partners.
