What to expect from Bridgerton’s third season?
Towards the direction Bridgerton Season 3, fans will have plenty to talk about as the Netflix romance returns.
As other installments of the series have done before it, Season 3 will also adapt one Julia Quinn Bridgerton Saga novels; however, for the first time the series jumps Book order to focus on a specific story.
Season 3 of the popular streaming drama is based on the fourth book in the series (titled Romantic Mr. Bridgerton), instead of the third book.
This story follows the budding romance between series bearer Penelope Featherington (played by Nicole Coughlan) and Conlin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).
However, as it is Bridgerton way, things get a little more complicated than the typical “boy meets girl” romance story.
As teased in the series’ official synopsis (via TUDUM ), season 3 will see Penelope hit the market as a husband and “fail spectacularly:”
“However, she has decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will give her enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, away from her mother and siblings. But lacking confidence, Penelope’s attempts at marriage Mart fail spectacularly.”
However, after Colin returned from his trip abroad, he and Penelope hit it off and eventually fell in love, leading to a wedding ceremony filled with controversy.
In the book, it’s at this wedding that Penelope is revealed to be local gossip Lady Whistledown, but since that information is already public in the Netflix series, it has to do something to add dramatic pizazz.
Bridgerton Season 3 begins streaming on Netflix on Thursday, May 16.
